City of Guelph Baseball Players Represent OUA All-Stars

This past baseball season two Silvercreeks and one Royal team member received baseball all-star honours from the OUA (Ontario University Athletics) for 2014.

Mike Clouthier of the Waterloo Warriors and Guelph Silvercreeks received his first team all-star award for third base. As last year’s rookie of the year was among the leaders in most of the offensive statistical categories. Mike also made two relief appearances recording two saves.

Justin Interisano of the Guelph Gryphons and Guelph Royals received his fourth all-star award and his second team all-star award for catcher. The all-star awards go along with his two “Most Valuable Hitter” awards. Justin led the OUA in home runs and runs batted in for the 2014 season.

Turner Spears of the Western Mustangs and Guelph Silvercreeks received his second team all-star award for third base. Turner led the Mustangs in doubles and stolen bases as well as second in hits and slugging percentage.

All three players will represent the OUA all-stars at the Rogers Centre in the spring of 2015 in a game against the OCAA (Ontario Colleges Athletic Association) All-Stars after one of the Toronto Blue Jay games.
